The Dancing Chromosomes were founded by Hanns-Christian "CT" Türck in the early 1980ies in Prien am Chiemsee, Southern Bavaria, Germany. They started as a New Wave and Underground band, influenced by Joy Division and Velvet Underground. Ralf Bremer joined the group in 1987, Philipp Meyer in 1991. In those years the "DCs" established themselves in the growing independent music scene in Munich. Managed by Max Göbl and Marc Liebscher they played a number of sold out concerts in and around Munich in places like Kulturstation, Theaterfabrik, Feierwerk or Hide Out. They performed as opening act for bands like "Tears for Fears", "The Ride" and "The Wedding Present". They recorded their first CD in 2002 in Göttingen. From 2021-2023 the DCs started their bavarian side project "Lärm des Südens" and released their vinyl record "Nummer Eins".
